Moola is live at moola.so
A home on the web, a Claude connector, balances that update every five minutes, and one paid plan. Here is everything that shipped this week.

Moola has a real address now: moola.so. The app, the docs, and this blog all moved there this week, and a lot of the last month's work went out with them. This is the first entry in what I plan to keep as a plain, dated record of what changed. Short, honest, no marketing voice.
New
- moola.so. The app lives at
moola.so, with a landing page for anyone who isn't signed in, a demo that runs on sample data, and docs.moola.so for every feature. Because the host changed, everyone was signed out once and passkeys had to be re-added. Sorry about that; it won't happen again. - Connect Claude to your workspace. Moola is now an MCP server, so Claude (and soon ChatGPT, which is in review) can read your accounts, transactions, and Health report and record planned actions with your permission. You connect it from Settings → Connected apps; it requires a second factor, like linking a bank, and it can never move money. The connect page walks through it.
- Live balances. Linked bank balances and investment holdings refresh every five minutes, and investment accounts are repriced at market quotes while the US market is open. The intraday charts now show when each balance was confirmed.
- Ask your bank right now. Refresh (or Sync now on a connection) asks the bank for fresh data rather than only reading Plaid's cache. The bank's own "data as of" clock is shown next to Moola's.
- One plan. Moola Plus is $6 a month or $60 a year. The free plan still includes one linked institution and everything else.
- Encryption with a key per person. Sensitive fields, including bank access tokens, are sealed with a key that belongs to your account, so a copy of the database on its own does not give them up.
Improved
- Health. Every account carries a kind (checking, Roth IRA, mortgage, and so on), which the Health checks use. The coach, when it's enabled, writes a plan from a de-identified assessment and never sees account names or numbers.
- Homes by address. Type an address, confirm the public-record match, and add the home at its automated estimate. Tracked homes are revalued weekly.
- Families. Any account can be marked private and stays out of the family workspace entirely. Everyone's totals still add up.
Fixed
- Bank connections that drop out on the institution's side now show a clear paused state with a reconnect button instead of a silent stale balance.
- Scheduled syncs were being blocked behind a login wall on the new domain and silently did nothing. They run again.
- Retrying a failed bank sync no longer reports success before the sync has finished.
